ID and PIN
Any Harvard affiliate needs to have their HUID and PIN to get any FAS account or access to many online applications.
You can request your PIN to be set when you receive your Harvard ID in person at the HUID Office. They will give a temporary PIN that is good for 24 hours. You will need to change it at https://www.pin.harvard.edu/.

FAS Email account
Once you have an ID and PIN you can activate your FAS email Account at: http://www.fas.harvard.edu/fasit/myaccount/. Click on the Activate my account link
There are other utilities available on that page to setup Spam blocking, virus blocking, forwarding your mail, and vacation messages.

New Computer Setup
Your Department should provide you with a new computer.
FAS IT Service Desk can send an on-site technician to setup your computer, install and configure your software.

Computer Product and Repair Center (CPRC)
Harvard University offers many discounts on computer and peripherals, the Computer Product and Repair Center can help you purchase a personal computer, additional software, or accessories.
The CPRC has a showroom in the Science Center basement, across from the elevators.

Calendaring & Meeting Maker
Meeting Maker is the collaborative calendaring application the Faculty of Arts and Sciences uses. The FAS IT Service Desk can create Meeting Maker accounts for you once you have your FAS email account setup.

http://my.harvard.edu/ is the FAS web portal. It has many features and is customizable. You need a Harvard University ID and PIN to login and personalize my.harvard.edu
Course websites and Instructional Computing
FAS IT uses Courses iSites for courses websites. iSites is a easy to use web platform.
Our Instructional Computing Group offers seminars at the beginning of each semester on how to use iSites as well as Presidential Instructional Technology Fellows available to assist faculty with their course iSites. You can contact the FAS IT Service Desk for more information or assistance.

FAS IT offers several software titles for no fee to FAS Faculty and Staff that can be picked up at the FAS IT Service Desk. Those titles are:

Library eResources
Hollis is the online library database. http://hollis.harvard.edu/. You need a Harvard University ID and PIN to access Hollis. Harvard College Libraries maintains Hollis and other library resources.
Research Computing Support
FAS IT has a specialist group that will assist faculty with creating researching computing solutions. You can request assistance from our research computing group by calling or emailing the FAS IT Service Desk.
