SNOW LEOPARD: Incompatibilities and Support Limitations
On Friday, August 28, 2009, Apple released its most recent operating system, Snow Leopard. FAS Information Technology (FAS IT) has comprehensively tested Snow Leopard to determine its compatibility with existing FAS IT-supported applications, including those provided by external vendors. A number of FAS-supported applications, including critical security applications, were determined to have either limited or no compatibility with Snow Leopard.
At this time, FAS IT recommends that students, faculty, and staff avoid upgrading to Snow Leopard on computers that are running earlier versions of Mac OS X, including Mac OS 10.4 Tiger and Mac OS 10.5 Leopard. Until software vendors have released versions of their applications that are fully compatible with Snow Leopard, FAS IT will not be able to fully support users running Snow Leopard.
FAS IT has compiled a list of compatibility and support characteristics for applications running under Snow Leopard.
