All College and GSAS students, Extension/Summer School students, and FAS faculty and staff have access to the Science Center's computing facilities. All Science Center labs are open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
The main facility in the building is the Science Center Computer Lab (SCL), room B-14. This lab contains:
- 40 Windows XP workstations
- 25 Intel Macintosh workstations running OS X
- 32 Ubuntu Linux workstations
- 5 seats for personal laptop use
- One color and five black-and-white laser printers
The Service Desk is located in the Science Center Computer Lab.
Additional computer classrooms are located in the Science Center; these are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and may be used for general computing use whenever classes are not in session.
Extension/Summer School affiliates have access to a DCE (Department of Continuing Education) computer lab at 53A Church Street in Harvard Square. You must present a valid Extension/Summer School ID or your course receipt/registration form to access this facility.
Distributed Residential Labs
Harvard College undergraduates, GSAS graduate students, and residents of the Harvard Houses and dormitories may also access House and dorm computer labs. Each upperclass House and several dormitories have local computer labs. Unless noted below, each lab contains both Macintosh and PC workstations and a laser printer. These labs are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to House/dorm residents via keycard access:
