New Anti-Virus Software for Faculty and Staff PCs

FAS IT is distributing new antivirus software, known as ESET, for FAS faculty and staff running Windows PCs.

Beginning on Tuesday, June 8, FAS IT will use an automated process to install ESET remotely on faculty and staff systems.  The process will not require any action on your part provided that your PC is powered on and connected to the campus network at some point over the next several weeks.  The FAS license for McAfee Antivirus expires on June 30, so the installation process will automatically remove this software if it is running on your PC.

If you would like to install ESET on your own or on a personal computer at home, the software is available online for you to download.

Please contact FAS IT Support at 617-495-9000 if you have any questions or would like to make separate arrangements to have ESET installed on your PC.
