What is the Multimedia Lab and what services does it offer?

The multimedia lab is for affiliates of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Available for general walk-in use, it is located on level A of Lamont Library.

The lab has high resolution scanners, DVD/CD burners, and equipment for editing digital audio and video files, all connected to modern Macintosh computers running OS X 10.5. Common uses for this lab include:

  • Scanning photos, slides, and negatives, or scanning documents with optical character recognition.
  • Audio/video editing or conversion from analog to digital formats.
  • Designing Web page files and graphics.

Software available in the lab includes:

  • Audacity
  • Final Cut Studio
  • Handbrake
  • Logic Studio
  • Sibellius
