Faculty and Staff Support: E-mail
FAS Information Technology provides e-mail accounts for members of the FAS community, as well as affiliates and sponsored individuals.
E-mail accounts
- Each e-mail account is part of the FAS account disk space of 100MB, providing storage for e-mail, uploaded files, projects, etc.
E-mail Software Support
- E-mail can be accessed through any POP or IMAP e-mail client.
- E-mail can also be accessed through shell-access via unix-based e-mail software such as PINE.
- FAS IT supports Web-based e-mail.
- E-mail list services are also available for FAS e-mail accounts. Apply for an account.
E-mail Security
- FAS IT provides desktop-based virus scans of e-mail. Download the software.
- FAS IT provides server-based security utilities for viruses and spam, as well as general utilities such as vacation messages. Download the software.
- FAS IT may filter e-mail attachments to decrease the risk of virus activity. Filter information can be found here.
Consultation Services
Consultation services for e-mail-related projects are also available for users with more complex use issues contact the FAS IT Service Desk to discuss different methods of making e-mail usage more efficient.
